learning slow wheelies ?
Get that fairing bracket fixxed asap!!!! Trust me I know. Mine broke on my 900rr and the fairing was real loose but I decided to ride it anyways, well the fuse box under the inspection panel must have taken alot of vibration and rattled a wire loose for the fuel pump, needless to say I was on a 50mph wheelie at about 10 o'clock hight and the wire came loose, the bike shut off, slammed on the ground and next thing I know I'm looking at the radiator from the front with both hands still on the bars. somehow I managed to stay on the bike but it coul've been nasty I tore it down the same day and sent the bracket to a welder to have it reinforced at the connection where the bracket meets the neck, all he did was weld a plate of steel on both sides and drilled new holes where the old ones were. I 've also noticed that r6's have a similar bracket so maybe this will work for u 2.
hey kevin
thanks for the tip
mine has been broke for quite some time now
and has scared me just thinking about what will happen with it
i had the same problem with my zx9(98)
the only thing that happed was:
the top of the forks got caught under the fairing stay when i turned really hard one day.
i didnt realize what had happened untill the bars wouldnt turn and i laid it down
when i picked it up i saw what was messed up
dont want that again.
ill try to get a buddy to work on that for me, save me some greef
thanks

Hey Biscuit, almost gott'em out 20 only 1 wreck(that was in the bush) and 6 saves thats parking it. Now my slow ones are giving me trouble. It seems that the bike wants to cut off while I'm up there.Whats the deal with that ?Do I need a bigger spocket or summthing, cause I'm stilll on the factory.
hey congrats man
how slow are your slows?
i can succesfully ride about 4mph or so and not stall out (has this wicked valve clicking sound, like right before it stalls)
if i go any slower the bike stalls
right now im running stock gears and waiting on my new sprokets to get here (they better be here tomorrow)
im not sure about gixxers, the gears are different im sure.
i finnally found some video but i dont know how to post them here.
if you know please help
biscuit
p.s. keep up the good work.
and let me know how its going

last night i found out that my top speed is 110mph
i was so supprised, i can also start from a dead stop in 6th
kinda like having an automatic
oh yeah i cant remember if i told you guys the sizes.
stock 16 up front and 48 in the back

nice!!!
hey Gix6xer, just saw your vid
you're getting them up nice and smooth. I'm getting them up but no way near yours. Are you holding the clutch in while you're rolling then hit the throttle or are you just 'tapping' (slipping) the clutch 'right' when you hit the throttle? How many fingers do you use on the clutch? I'm using my index and after an hour or so of practice it gets uncomfortable
Hope you don't mind the questions
Everyone here has been real helpful and I appreciate it all:YEAH
ps; what gearing are you running? I'm going -1, +7 on my R6.

no problem R6 kid thats what this forums for.I try to roll at like 5mph or so with the clutch out, then just tap it with the throttle.I use two fingers and "cover that brake" can't stress that enough.Right now i'm -1 and factory in back.Really man listen to your bike you'll know when your giving too much gas or too little.Get a steady roll no wobble thats what messed me up in the end as you saw
Biscuit and Korno helped me alot with the advise in this forum so as far as some QanA if someone knows and don't help they're just hate'n .BUt let me now if you need some help and I'll try my best to get Your *** 12'vn ,hell before you know it you'll park that bitch!!! holla if you get stuck on something all ears

hey Gix6xer, thanks for the reply
I'm just trying to gather all the info I can. I'm trying slow wheelies now but need to pick some of the pros brains so I don't f@ck my **** up to bad
Just one thing, I know you don't 'dump' your clutch now, but how far in do you pull your clutch at the point right when you hit the throttle? Does the clutch lever actually hit the left hand grip or does it come in half way?
Hope this makes sense. I'm watching your vid over & over to see how you handle the clutch, but it's not that clear. Reason for all the questions I guess
Very inspirational:D Ok, thanks again.
ps: have you tried 'dumping' the clutch? if so, which method did you find easier? I'm asking because I'm 'dumping' the clutch now and wondering if I should just practice 'slipin' it instead. What's your opinion?

R6kid "slipp'n " of the clutch is the best way to me,seems like I have more control.I'll try to post a park this weekend.Hope theres grass around.....lol Have you had any luck yet? post a vid so I can see an "others"(people that can do 'em with their eyes close) so we can see where the problem is .Maybe I or "others" can help
Hey Gix6xer, here's a vid of me 'trying' to slow my wheelies down.
In that vid I'm 'dumpin' the clutch at around 7mph. Comes up really fast that way. Would like to slow 'em down alittle. I'm gonna try 'slipin' the clutch. Did you notice a difference on how the front came up either slippin or dumpin? I need to bring it up slower...or just grow some ***** and deal with it
If you can tell me what I'm doing wrong or give me some pointers after you watch the vid I'd appreciate it
Anything will help:D

holey crap dude....
ok, no offense but that had me scared to death watching it. You are way to violent with the throttle and clutch. Start from almost dead stop, let the clutch out fast, but don't dump it, your fingers should ride it out really fast as you roll on throttle. Drop your tire pressure to about 15psi, it sounds like your tire is breaking loose when you dump the clutch.
It should come up fast but smooth, kinda like a bunny hop coming up. I'll look for a clip of me coming up to show you. you are coming up really wild and it'll loop easy like that.
hit me up with a PM so i'll remember to get that clip for ya

Thank god for that back brake. Will slipin' the clutch slow my **** down? Or will higher gearing do that?To tell you the truth, I'm getting comfortable with this speed. So slowing it down would make it easier!thanks for all the feedback fellas
I'm gonna get this **** sooner or later.-jr
wasup R6, I peeped your clip, that dump'n the clutch is not the way.LIke binder said your throttle control is kinda kill'n you. Here I got an idea, when your about to set up try as normal covering the brake, but this time add a little pressure and slip the clutch.Eventually the more you practice doing this more you'll get off the brake.Try it this way tell me if you have any luck cause this method worked for a friend of mine. oh yeah TIRE pressure I run between 15- 20 try it you'll feel the difference.
p.s. be easy with that throttle, gotta be smooth pimp, you'll have 'em soon post another vid doing it this way so I can see your progress. Also check out triple Xtreme site they got some pointers too.
