wheelies with 750 Kat
I'm really new to this. The last wheelies I did were with a Kawi 400 triple which was light and had +3 on the rear (not by choice but because that was all the dealer had and my sprockets were toast). That was also in the 70's so I'm a bit rusty to say the least.
My Kat is stock and as we all know a bit of a heavy weight, but I've also seen guys I rode with in the 60's do 50-100 meters on Triumph Bonnevilles (remember them, 47bhp, 363 lbs? one of the reigning superbikes of the era). These were often followed by a change of underwear.
I get the idea from other threads that clutching up is easier on the bike and more predictable. Without getting pretty radical with the sprockets, powering up would be difficult.
PS What the heck is a fiddy?

Do you wanna do 12s? or just ride around on one wheel? The balance point on akat is real high, so if you wanna scrape your tail light, its pretty safe. You can scrape it without using the brake at all. I do most of my katana wheelies in second gear now. Roll at about 30 mph (dont know how many km that is) pull in the clutch, rev the engine to 11k, bounce on the pegs and let it go. People will tell you not to bother stunting a katana, and that it sucks for wheelies. Well, they're actually right, but its still doable. I have a +1 front sprocket and it comes up in second no problem.
Mike:
Thanks for getting back to me. Just getting up fairly high would be a good start. It's been wet and rainy for about a week so I haven't had a chance to try anything since your thread. So how do I land this? Just ease off on the gas? If I've just wound it up to 11K in 2nd with stock sprockets I'll really be motoring about the time I'm getting a rise out of the Kat.

hes talking about going 30, then pulling in the clutch , reving the engine to 11000 then let go of the clutch quickly, you should still be going 30 untill you pop the clutch. you can power up a first gear wheelie, go about 15- 20 let off the gas then twist it and yank up at the same time. let off then twist in one quick motion.
