Looking to start bankin some 12's dont have a bar or anything on yet think i should start off tapin the tail? Any tips greatly apreciated

 

mark ive told you, learn without a bar, the plastic gives the bar doesnt.

 

Thats what im afraid of kid it giving and me going over guess just got to grab the nuts and throw it

 

work on just rockin em slow first and then worry about scrapin. p.s.-the bar doesn't forgive!

ya, the plastics give but if you slip on the brake or clutch it and don't brake at all...i've saw it twice this summer: the bike just keeps on coming over and it's a horrible accident and the rider gets hurt pretty bad.

2 of my buddies did it this summer, one on an f4 and one on a 2003 gixxer 1000. no bars, the bike came up smacked 12 and just folded the subframe and kept on coming over onto them.

when i was learning i had my bar and on a couple occasions i've come back really hard on my bar and it slams down then ejects me and the bike falls forward or on the sides...where i want it. i don't want that **** on top of me like they had it. it wasn't pretty at all.

NOW, if you set it down a little crooked, the tail will be more forgiving that way, cause the bar will throw the bike down, but it usuall doesn't land on you. i'm just saying for safty of coming back to hard too fast, the bar will stop it from flipping on over.

 

i learned with the bar, and i think there's almost a couple guaranteed wrecks learning with the bar, but for some reason im glad i did. i never tried without it so i can't really give any advice on it, but i'd hate to tell someone to learn with a bar and watch them wreck

 

I had a bar on and wrecked like 5 out of my first 6 times hittin, took it off and hit like a mad man, wit out the bar teaches you more brake control as well cause u HAVE to use the brake to save your ***.

well ya, it teaches you more brake control, but if you mess up the first couple times cause you have no brake control, it's a bad deal.

the thing is, you're not suppose to hit until you can rock slower stuff....that is the key. once you can rock the slower stuff and keep the bike squared up, then you set htat bar down. before, i would just slam it back like a mad man, now i can get it up, rock it slow and when i feel like i'm nice and square then i set hte bar down and i have no problems.

i tried learnin wit the bar and wound up like your first try. Wish I had the sequence of me in Daytona last yr that **** was funny.

I went back to no bar and learned me some brake control. Matter of fact I still dont run a bar and I have parked it on the subframe.

I learned slow **** b4 I hit tail, also taught me brake control and that helped me a lot with the nth's

 

damn i learned with a bar and the first night i tried i scraped 3 times....i never crashed learning....maybe i was just carefull or maybe i just got lucky.

I learned with a bar and thats what I recommend. Friends of mine were learning at the same time without one and they would F their bikes up pretty good, cuz the bar will save you from flipping all the way back. A beginner usually doesn't have the brake control to hit it and put the bike down once the tail has scraped. Just make sure you are balanced when you snap the bike up and it should stay straight. thats my 2 cents
