2nd gear wheelies on a 600

I have a 2000 zx6r geared 2 up in the rear, I can power up wheelies in first, and clutch them up in second, the problem is it will come up about a foot slowly then drop slowly. Am I not giving it enough gas or should I rev it higher. I usually ride at 35 -40 in second at wot slip the clutch to about 11 grad then pop it back. I think Im still wot but maybe not. any input would be appriciated. also, some one told me the balance point in 2nd was alot lower than in first. How high is it.

how about bouncing the front of the bike than powering up?

In second I roll at 7-8 grand and just slip the clutch and pop it. I am -1 +2.

put a back peg down and use the suspension.....just like bouncing, but use the clutch, it's more predictable. You should be able to roll on, roll off @ clutch and it will come right up...lean back too, if its comin down you're prolly leanin over the front. COVER that BRAKE

i have a stock geared 2002 xz6r
second go 50 and slip the cluth from the rev limiter and hold on

balance point is the same in all gears

go to third go about 55 put left foot back on passenger peg and right over ur rear brake bounch down hard and when the suspension is on its way back up slip the clutch and itll come up pretty fast that way also if ur not used to bounching stand ups go 70 mph itll make it easier to get the hang of

Yeah, get some more speed out of it before doing that. I only recently realized I can't get mine to stay up in second unless I do it at 50 or so, only once the motor is into it's power range, about 6-7k.

Yes even my almost 500lb 6e can loft it up in 2nd and carry until I can't hold on anymore
So yours should not have any trouble.

when clutching you need to bounce on the bike the same time that you are letting the clutch go. just pratice bouncing and giving it gas and it will bounce up when you get it right in any gear.

get running about 50-60mph in second and standup and pull as hard as you can and give it full throttle, it should power staright up, my sis has a 99 zx6r all stock and i can power it up in second all day and hit the balance point

check it.... if the powerband on the bike is 6gs then you should clutch at like 4 or 5 grand. you don't really need to bounce it unless you are doing a 3rd gear wheelie. if you are clutching way over powerband then you will have a harder time to get it up.

this is a nice piece of advice. i just started clutching it up. and that's what i was finding, sometime in second i would be a little high in the rpm, and it would barely come up. kept the info coming.
