rollin sick stoppies
rollin sick stoppies
ok here it goes...i have a 2003 gsxr600 and i can roll out stoppies like 85 feet on a good day(that is my best) and i was wondering what you sick people run for front tire pressure and also how to stop my bike from drifting to the right during stoppies...please help
MY LONGEST STOPPIE WAS 220 FEET ON MY 900RR AND 120FEET ON MY XR50 I RUN 15-18 PSI.LOCK YOUR ARMS AND DONT MOVE YOUR BODY UP AND WHEN YOUR ON THE STOPPIE IF THE *** OF THE BIKE GOES TO THE RIGHT PUCH ON THE RIGHT CLIPON AND MOVE YOUR BODY TO THE LEFT AND TURN YOUR LEGS.KEEP PRACTISING
Big stoppies
Lower air pressure actually hurts stoppie distance.......the only reason to lower air pressure in your front tire would be if you had trouble with the tire hooking up when you first get on the brake. If your tire isnt skidding at all then I wouldnt worry about lowering your air pressure. I run about 25 PSI in mine and I'm gettin over 400'.
I used to be paraniod about runnin high pressure because I locked one up and broke a few ribs during the winter but thats because it was cold outside. I had been runnin about 14 PSI since then but when I decided to increase the pressure I increased my distance quite a bit.
I recommend about 25 PSI....just make sure you have a good and fresh tire. I also HIGHLY recommend a steering damper. If you get the *** end up high enough to roll far without one.....it will probably get REAL unstable. Tankslappers are no fun

good advice. the stock dampers are garbage. i was riding a 02 gixxer 750 the other day and was getting headshake with the stock damper at only like 40/45 mph.
I'm rollin about 80-100ft. on a zx6r with no damper but there right when I get high enough to keep it rollin I get some headshake . Scotts damper is the way to go . Also I've jus started doin 1 handers and I'm not rollin them more than 20 ft. and honestly as uinstable as it feels I'm proly gonna cill on those altogether till I get a damper
ohlins is sick. but I love my scotts. why the hell would it suck. its saved my *** so many times, and never bends or gets destroyed when I bail.....
and how the hell do you guys measure the distance of your endo's? everybody is always so exact. Christ I would hate to measure all that. how annoying....
don't mean to be a dick... jeeze I sound like an *******.

I'va had a crash this past weekend trying to go for distance... my bike is streetfightered and i have no damper...
My front wheel just went into a mild slapper but everything ended up all right.
I have a question though... do you get and keep your *** off the seat during the whole time? I shift forward to get the tire up and stay forward....my longest is about 30 ft.

The damper helps that much??? Try as I might I can't get distance on the R6, I think my best ever was somewhere around 65 feet which is just sad
Everytime it gets up high enough to roll and at any reasonable speed it immediately wants to slap. I always just thought it was the bike cause it's a tankslappin bitch all the time no matter what you're doing.
