I do travelling repair and used this method to remove a fork internal (cartridge?) From a showa big piston fork. (2015 zx10 abs) The wood keeps from scratching customer fork and adds working room to break the large internal piece loose . While, it may seem primitive, it helped me a lot today..... took 60 seconds to set up and held it firmly in place!!!
