F4i, changed to keyless ignition...now more problems

So I followed the writeup on how to change to a keyless ignition. I removed the ignition, soldered the zenner and resistor in the proper order, hooked up a 35 amp toggle switch. The red/bl wire to one prong, the other three to the other prong. Now the fuel pump will prime, but no turning from the starter. I thought that it could have been the battery since I hadn't started the bike up in a while. So I hooked up some jumper cables to my car (the car was off), and tried again. This time the fuel pump wouldn't prime, and the engine would turn when i hit start button, but it would not start (no fuel, possibly no spark?).

I'm kinda stumped and could use a pointer or two about what else to check.... fyi- bas jumped, clutch sensor jumped, kickstand not jumped, custom headlight with no high beam. Any pointers would be appreciated!

I'm not saying you did this wrong. I did the same thing to a bike and had the resister awkward. It will only allow power to go through one way. Just a FYI
