954rr Bar end issue

954rr Bar end issue
I tried replacing the bar ends on my 954 and when i took the old ones out this metal rod came out all together with them, I was able to secure the clutch side but the throttle side keeps coming out. What secures that metal rod inside the bar? Does anyone know?
