Check into a HyperPro that just replaces the stock one. Out of the way, and cheaper because of not needing all the mounts. Contact THOMPSONS with a pm on here and tell him I sent you and he'll hook it up.

why do you say that? I'd go with the ohlins all day long over a scotts or gpr on a suzuki. The suzukis already have the mounts for it. The only reason to go with a rotary style damper is that they dont have anything to bed. However, if you crash a gixxer or busa and wad up a ohlins or a stock damper you got more to worry about then the damper.

Re: stunting busa steering damper

i thought the suzukis came with a stock piston type damper? id assume those are mounted where an ohlins would go..then you could have the stock and aftermarket damper? i dunno i dont know suzukis very well.

Re: stunting busa steering damper

You can also change the stock damper oil. It's pain in the *** procedure, but possible.

The hard part is to get the oil in and the air out. You need to pump the damper under oil to do that. I think the stock oil is like 5W?

Haven't done to busa, but many TL owners change the fluid to lighter one, like 2.5W.

But adjustable is better anyway.

Ya, it'l make that thing steer like it's lowered a couple inches. ALL THE TIME. Get an adjustable one.

Re: stunting busa steering damper

way to go stuntin the busa, I hardly see anyone that even wheelies theirs. How is it for wheelies? Can you get it up in the higher gears, 3rd, 4th, 5th? I'd imagine that balance point is up there cause of the heavy front end, same thing with the katana. also, how fast can you go in first gear? I have a friend that's getting an f4i that doesn't believe that some of the bigger bike (zx-10r, gix 1k) can go over 100 in 1st.

Re: stunting busa steering damper

at about redline, my busa hits close to 90mph, but i have yet to hit the limiter. i geared it down (like it needed it) dropped one in the front and went up 3 in the rear, now i can power up wheelies with only throttle 1st 2nd and 3rd no problem. this is my first bike so when i got it i knew noting about stunting, but after i got it and started practicing, i noticed that the busa is not the "stunting bike of choice" i thought. but thats kewl, i like to trip people out when they see a busa roll out a 50+ foot endo when otha f4i are only pulling jerk stoppies!! not that good at wheelies tho, can ride out first gear, haven't shifted yet, gunna try when i start riding again

Re: stunting busa steering damper

no need to shift gears man that just wears out your tranny and makes the wheelie dangerous, you gotta bring it up high at the balance point where your revs stop climbing...that way you can ride it out as long as you want a steady rpm.

Re: stunting busa steering damper

normally unless your tail touched the *oh ***** point it normally at or little behind the BP but a quad will teach you brake control much safer than it will on your bike.

Re: stunting busa steering damper

I agree, do not shift. Stock geared busa can hit 100mph at first gear. Lot of busas has been crashed by landing wheelie and tank slapped to wreck. everything over 60 is dangerous. I say try to cluct it and keep it high and low speed.

Re: stunting busa steering damper

learn to clutch it up smooth and high,i hear busas are slap happy landing wheelies..once you master clutching you'll be able to ride in the mid to high rpms range all day on one wheel.

Hyper pro in the stock mounting holes, wont be in the way, and lock your elbows, grip your knees to the tank.
