600rr handle bars are cocked
600rr handle bars are cocked
I changed out my lower tree and bearings on my 03 600rr and when i put everything back together my front tire is cocked as so is my handle bars. i took this thing apart and put it back together three times! what do yall think this is? my forks didnt seem bent before but could i have maybe turned them to only expose the cocked side and it has thrown the tire off? mind you this is the first time i changed bearings out
Re: 600rr handle bars are cocked
loosen the top triple nut and the pinch bolts and straighten them , dont loosen the pinch bolts so much that the forks slide up in the triple but enough so you can twist every thing back into place ..
use your knees to hold the tire and your hands to twist the bars ..

Re: 600rr handle bars are cocked
I did that but I think i loosened the lower pinch bolts and kept the top kind of snug. Should i loosen them all?I was getting frustrated! Lol and it was hella late. I'll try that and update my results!
Re: 600rr handle bars are cocked
ya you gotta make them all loose enough so the forks can twist inside the clamp and you gotta loosen the nut on top of the top triple so it can move too
Re: 600rr handle bars are cocked
alright!! thank you Bro!! on more thing if you dont mind. those two nuts that hold the upper bearings in, that have that little washer deal with the tabs that fold up thats in between, are both of those suppose to be tight or just the one on the bottom?
Re: 600rr handle bars are cocked
you tighten the one on the bottom then you put the washer with the folding tabs on then you tighten the top one down till the tabs line up with the notches in the nuts , you push two of the tabs down into the bottom nut and then you push two of the tabs up into the top nut ..
