burnout gone bad, what did I do wrong

I tried my first burnout today, it didn't go as planned. I squeezed the front brake, rolled it out to about 4 or 5, and started easing out the clutch.Iwasn't rushin it,Itook my time tryin to balance out the clutch and when it finally disengaged it spunout to the right and I ended up dropping it. nothing major luckily, just a scratch on the bike and I'm fine. But what do I need to consider b4 tryin again?

try doin stand still burnouts before rollin em. just hold the front break in and the twist the throttle. that way ur will break even harder because turnin the throttle causes u to pull in the break even more. stand over the bike & keep weight off bak tire & slowly let out the clutch. the wheel should start spinnin 7 now ur doin a burnout. to start rollin em just slowy let off the front brake & stand on pegs & put weight towards the front wheel. hope this helps

the reason it spun out is because you leaned the bike to the left - remember that when the tire starts to spin, the bike'll act like it's on ice - keep the rpms low, too. The higher the rpm, the quicker the bike will react to any lean.

once the tire starts to spin, you should be able to drop the rpms significantly - this will allow for greater control, and give you longer tire life

I agree... try the stand still burn outs first.. I actually just rev the tac up to about 8k with a mad tight grip on the front brake and then just let the clutch out... back tire start spinning really nice and smooth...

I had a 92 kat, for all of the weight that these poor bikes poses, the front tire dont grip for a **** on these things unless you LAY on them bars! Also it depends on the surface that the front tire is attempting to grip and if the front tiire is warmed up and sticky. As for a rolling burnout, you gotta get up on that tank like your trying to mount or hump it otherwise they get REAL crazy real quik! Hope this helps at all,

line up that thing with a wall so you can practice the throttle/clutch work
