Maryland Inspection Help

ok so I've been stunting for awhile now but want to finally get a legit street bike on the road. I bought a bike off a friend that was an old stunter. I dont have a title for the bike and the frame and engine vins dont match. So I thought to just buy a frame with a title and do a swap. Does anyone know the process of the MD state inspection for salvaged bikes? Like will they check my frame and engine vin for matching numbers, if I dont have the paper work for the engine? Am I going to get **** for them not matching? Or should I go ahead and drop the extra $1000 to get a clean titled frame? Just trying to get some info before I go through the hassle of getting another frame. Thanks in advance.

YO where you at im maryland???? not really sure about them checking if they match but i no when i got my bike inspected they took the vin right off the frame to put on the inspection ticket. Your still gonna need a title tho to switch it in your name to get your tags at the mva.

Re: Maryland Inspection Help

As far as i know what ive heard is that with salvaged title bikes you have to have a state trooper inspect the bike not sure how deep they go in running numbers on the motor and **** but id go into as legit as possible. That info came from a buddy who does state car inspections and hes trying to get into moto inspections. He asked the trooper he reports the inspections too about salvage title bikes. so take that for what its worth im not 100% on the whole deal.
