will gearing help this??
will gearing help this??
ok i was practicing my 12's today and got some pretty damn long. but i'm still at around 15 or so. so i'm wondering if i gear my bike a little, like 8 or so up(i'm 1 down) will it help me slow them down? i'm ok at 15 but at a round 5 to 10 i'm really choppy with the throttle and thats whats killing me. no mattter how constant i try to be just the samllest movements are too much. i want to set the idle and just let it run off that.
and a bonus question, will gearing it make tank and windscreen wheelies harder, or will i be able to hit them higher cause it will be choppier??

If you change your gearing (shorter) you will be able to slow down your wheelies. Your bike will be making torque at the same RPM but the speed will be lower. The throttle will be choppier though. If you raise the idle then the throttle isn't really an issue though. It's all brake control.
Windscreen wheelies will come up way easier because of the extra torque but again the throttle will be twitchier. Just work on getting it up to the right height right away so you don't have to make corrections with the throttle. Hope this helps
