Its normal for kawasakis. Its often the cam chain tensioner ticking.

Have you done the clean air mod? Do that, and if it still ticks, adjust the CCT.

clean air mod has nothing to do with the tick

I'm not a mechanic so its all theoretical to me, but don't these bikes have automatic tensioners? Obviously they don't work as well after a while if they do, but I'm not the only person that has had the tick completely remove itself after the airbox mod. I read in the 636 pair mod thread that it could possibly be causing the tensioner to activate itself and move out one click, ridding the bike of the ticking sound.

Thats assuming that the tick hes talking about is the regular kawi tick and hes not confusing it with a rod knock or the like

Bottom line--He should do the mod anyway. If its still ticking then we will know its something else.

i havent had a 636 motor without a tick...and i think ive been thru about 5 of them....my frst one right from the dealer ticked
