My wheelie training. Need feedback Please.
Hey guys I got some questions and could use some input.
I've been wanting to work on my wheelies more and more. I have come across some difficulty though and could use some advice.
I ride an 02 Honda CBR954. Obviously I can power up 1st gear wheelies easier than a 2 dollar hooker can find a date. However I really want to learn clutching them up. In 2nd Gear I've been getting the speed to about 40 and then clutching them however I cannot with any consistancy get enough umph to bring the wheel up off the ground more than a foot. A few times she lifted right off the ground and slowly raised higher and higher until I laid off the throttle out of fear(I was just getting used to the feeling). Im not really afraid anymore and would really like to get this sucker up consistantly and be able to hold it up. I was thinking about switching to stand up wheelies in 2nd while clutching thinking it would be easier. Everyone tells me they are.
Any pointers for beginning to learn standups. I've played with it a little bit but have no given it the all out to bring it up. Some things I noticed is that it feels really jerky when clutching it up like it will rip out of my hands or something. Also do you guys use the throttle to adjust the height or do you pretty much keep the throttle steady and use the rear brake to adjust yourself. Also anyone feel awkward trying to get your foot on that rear break???? Its like it wasn't made to be used when elevated in the air ya know?
Im basically looking for the, "boy I wish someone would have given me that pointer before I started practicing standups," type of info.
One last question, how far away am I at balance point from scraping my pipe? I have an Arion Racing slipon with a standard mount. Am I in danger of scraping and possibly causing myself to fall by doing balance point wheelies?
Thanks guys.

hmm
I seriously doubt your going to scrape your pipe while u wheelie. But heres the best way i can describe how to do a stand up.
go 45mph stand up accelerate to 55 mph while your accelerating stand up and bounce on the pegs hard. (do a double bounce if needed they come up easier that way). When the bikes front forks are compressed get on the gas. It will come up. If it does not your not bouncing hard enough or your timing is off or your not giving it enough gas.
dont ever let off the gas in the process.

Check here, Rodg from C.C. has some good info you can use. And Im no pro, but I dont see how people with liter bikes have trouble getting these bikes up.
