TL1000R Stuntz?
TL1000R Stuntz?
Anyone have any tips on Stoppies/Rollin' Endo's with a TL1000R? The damn thing needs a diet as is, fekking heavy...... Anyways, my stoppies only make it up a few inches if at all because the front tire ends up sliding out front, and sometimes it *does come up those couple inches and it *then it wants to skid... hmm.... And as for wheelies, I've heard tales of the TL1000S being a beast when it comes to Wheelies, any hints at wheelies with the R? The only thing I have attempted is whacking the throttle open from about 1/3rd of the way through the tach in second gear(mainly because I was told NOT to attempt Wheelies in 1st with it because the TL's like to loop over in 1st) not sure if maybe Ishould just stick to working on the other stunts and leavin' both wheels on the ground with this pig of a bike. Had a '92 CBR600F2 that I put a '97 F3 engine in, bumped sprockets, kevlar lines... The damn thing liked to lift both ends, prolly on account of the gearing as a result of the sprockets, not to mention you could pick it up like a toy it was so light, compared to the TL... But I totally dig the TL anyways, though I've noticed that I don't think I've seen one person on here list one as thier Piece... eh, ah well... If anyone could help?
Nah, left a post over there, Nothin' yet. Noticed that "99TILLER" posts over there so maybe it'll get the proper attention. thanks for followin' up, and if you've ridden a twin before and have any thoughts or idea's on it, lemme know.

Yes, thats about what the Twins work out to, a bit more than the 750's with the torque of the 1000's. Just checked the other post, thanks for the prompting, it got me a few replies.
Thanks for your time Bro!

I can't vouch for a TL but I ride a Honda Superhawk. I can wheelie it like a ****. 3rd gear standups on the highway no prob with stock gears. You gotta hit the bounce right and clutch just right and boom right up. Hang that as in and out for balance. 3rd really need some balance cuz your so low in the rpm range the bike likes to drop if you back off the throttle even slightly. Keep a steady thtottle and hang your *** of the back.
As far as stoppies I got em off the ground about a foot but rolling them isn't easy. The Hawk is a pig just like the TL's. Geta good tire and you'll solve the skidding problem.
Tank Wheelies in first is tit. I tried rolling the throttle then backing off and whacking it but it's too sketchy in first. Clutching it up is much safer and predictable. 2nd gear tank wheelies is tough on the Hawk cuz I'm 6' 230lbs. The clutch likes to slip then hit while the bikes coming up. That's sketchy. Slip slip slip bang it hits and it comes right up. Like WHOA
I like the Hawk for Wheelies good torque to bring em up and easy to hang em forver.

A nice couple shots GreggV, Imma play with the clutch some more Jimmy, what RPM range you in/around clutchin it up? Starting RPM and how far you rampin' the revs before you drop the clutch?
Here's a guy I ride with down here wheelying his TLR..

I wheelie the crap outta my pig TL in 1st gear, It is a little twichy but if you get the bike remapped or get an atre it will smooth all that out a lot and you'll have a lot more contol.
I have just started doing stoppies, just in time for the cold,
but I do know she will come up. my comes up with minimal effort even though I haven't pulled em up too high yet. I have never tried a stoppie with the stock brake set-up though. I have kevlar lines and EBC HH pads.

You could also re-gear if you wanted to. The TLR is geared very tall so you could easily go up to a 41t rear and still use your stock chain and she should come up in third with a bounce and 2nd no problem at all.
