Doing Christs

Does anybody have suggestions on doing Christs. I can do them but the bike slows down very quick and becomes unstable. I have fuel injected 929 should I turn the idle up and put it into a higher gear, or just leave the idle as it sits and speed up and kick it into neutral which is what I currently do. If I should adjust the idle what should I set it at. I also have a Scotts stabilizer should that be set tight or loose. I've only been doing this for a couple of weeks and want to avoid any mistakes it's a long way down.

MY LIFE MY WAY

Its not a fun dive either I just took that fall jumpin from the tail to the gas tank . I'd adjust the idle and ride in second , but everybody has there own method . Try both ways and decide which is more comfortable for you.

I like to just get going around 40-50mph pop it in neutral and jump up. That way the bike wont keep going if I happen to eat pavement.

i have a scott's on my 929. I left the high speed alone and turned the low speed (one you always adjust) out about 1 full turn. That seems to work good for me, it's tight, but i'm used to it.

about doing christs, or any acrobatics i do, i crack it up anywhere from 40-60 depending the stunt then drop it in neutral so if i eat **** the bike doesn't full speed into something, also, it coasts longer that way too. Mine seems to coast pretty far, about 40mph mine will cost the full 8th mile drag strip here without getting too slow.

anyway you can without falling..

the easiest would be just bending your knees grabbing the controlls and sit down. (if you have fear) or if you dont just kick your leggs out to each side and splat down in the seat.

i dont like christs on my seat - way too cushy and my foot always slips or something stupid. so I get up on the tank.
it is one of the more stupid stunts though.
i get more reaction just rolling with my hands in the air.

i have a cruise control on my bike. So i get going 35 or so then lock the cruise on and the bike will keep going as long as i want it to. The cruise was only like $15 bucks. Well worth it if ya ask me. Best way to get down. i either just grab the winshield or gas tank. depending on where your doing them. Then you can grab the handlebars. Then ya got something to hold onto, makes it easyer to get your feet back on the pegs.

The best way is always the fastest way, the faster you do any trick the less you move the bike. i say you would definitly want to be in neutral. when your in nuetral the bike isnt draging which depending on how fast your bike slows down i've seen people loss their balance when they were first learning. After your comfortable with christ's then you could do it in gear. But i go up to second about 50 any faster for a first timer will definitly be a little more difficult when you stand up because your not used to the wind hitting you yet. Go into nuetral hold onto the windshield jump up to the tank, do that a cupple of times to get a feel for where your feet are on the tank, after a few times still holding on to the windshield slowly starty putting your *** in the air after a while you'll finally feel comfortable enough to let go and slowly stand up. Make sure u always keep your knee's bent!!! Not suggested to do on a windy day either. when i come down i grab the windshield and jump down. then grap your hanldlebars and go from there.

Why don't you just turn the idle up on your bike. Thats my cruise control. I went down to New Jersey from Vermont sitting cross legged and my elbows on the tank resting my head up.

But for Christs I usually throw it in 6th and then ride it until it gets slow. If your going forever, definately turn up the idle.

How high do you turn your idle up in order to get it to coast without jerking, proably at about 35-40 mph. To go that fast should it be in 6th gear to do that with the idle up
