cb500 spark plugs knackerd after two weeks

ok so iv got a 97 cb500 its a great bike for learning on but the carbs make it run real rich when wheeling and so it starts to misfire if i change the plugs its ok again for about two weeks. iv changed the plug for a grade hotter (from 8 to 9) but this dosnt help, i was thinking of maybe trying iridium plug but would be pissed if they only lasted two weeks. p.s im usuing ngk plugs. i was thinking of maybe changing the angle of the carbs but it is my road bike and only transport at the moment. any ideas

I dont know if this will work for sure and it may hinder it for normal riding but you can try to adjust your float bowls....and would start with lowering them a very little bit at a time.....this may work.

well i'd say that when you are wheelieing the floats are suspended upwards from just their position, so i'm not sure that theres gonna be a whole lot you can do. you can try to lower them a little bit, but that would also affect your normal riding. sounds like you are running rich anyhow, even when you arent wheelieing. carbs are kinda an experimental thing. the spark plugs arent going to do jack for you, so dont waste your money.
