Re: bigger wheel?

Prolly swap on an r6 arm, it's about the same fitment as the fzr arms into the kan-a-tuna's. The other benefit besides 180 tire size will be the 1.5 " shorter arm. Only issue may be the front sprocket alignment, but plenty of offset sprockets are available for the gsxr 600 oil boiler. Any questions just PM me or email me at BFTUSA.com.

Re: bigger wheel?

in 98 they switched from a 3.5" to a 4.5" rear rim. Its a direct swap, and you can run a 160 without it rubbing the chain.

maybe for looking good at bike night

this is a katana we're talking about here, a 180 would rub on the chain

Re: bigger wheel?

Not with an 8mm spacer on the front sprocket. Been there done that, nothing special. I've heard it all, about this can't be done, that can't be done and then I've done it. Here, ck out my 250

Re: bigger wheel?

If I remember correctly you're prolly looking for around a 99 for pivot width. You need to find an arm with roughly a 241mm pivot width to clear the frame, you could even go single sided if you wanted, the early Viffer 750's were only 227mm pivot width...

Re: bigger wheel?

you can probably shove a 160 on the stock rim (if it's like a fzr 600)

can easily fit a 160 on a fzr600 made for a 140 tire

Also, just curious, why all that money and work into a 250?

Re: bigger wheel?

Nah, it'll take a liter bike to pass it. With the fully built motor sitting around 72hp and the bike only weighing 323lbs It'll be tough to run it down. I'm aiming for the LSR for 250cc pump gas forced induction/ power adder.

I'll check on the swinger, see what I can come up with...

Going for a LSR on a ninja 250?

Why not a 2 stroke based motor?

And what is the current LSR for a 250cc? All I could find was
'08 season @ Bonneville,,
Costella-Rock "5050" 250cc Honda

198.9 mph

Different class, and we're going for it at Maxton. Currently it's 129, with last season's record set at 119.88. Stock bike with a little squirt.
