gsxr front brake

i lucked out and got a gsxr radial for free so i put it on the crunchy piece bled it from every hole possible and its still alittle spongy so i go out to ride and i have to pump it up to get some extra pressure to bring the *** end up.

what do i need to do to fix this? i have heard gsxr radials are a pain in the ***. also all i had was dot 3 in the garage.......

omr whats your on this

Re: gsxr front brake

Gsxr masters are not that great and this is probably the reason u got it for free! If you have to pump it kinda sounds like your rotors may be tweaked just a bit and spreading your pads as you ride. But hey i'm not OMR so we will wait for him to chime in

Re: gsxr front brake

I bought a gix radial off ebay a while back, put it on the front brakes and for some reason could not get it bleed right(tried like 10 times) lever would squeeze all the way to handlebar. then,I swapped the aftermarket lever for a stock one and it was instantly perfect. (on the #6 setting you couldnt get it near the handlebar

Re: gsxr front brake

bleed it on the #1 setting, should be pretty solid, also ride it once and re-bleed, helps work the bubbles up to the res and to the bleeder at top of caliper

Re: gsxr front brake

It might just be the dot 3 being to thin, I bleed my hb upside down and frontbrakes rightside up.maybe it was given to u for free because it was bad.
