954 front signals don't blink
954 front signals don't blink
building this ****** up from scracth...(not scratch but bike was wrecked)
anyway, put in some gregg's flushmounts in the front. and the rear has integrated tail/signals.
LED all around (i'm 99% sure)
the rear works fine regardless of wether the front(s) is/are connected or now.
but with the front connected, when i turn on the bike, the flushmounts act as running lights and stay on...and when i activate lets say left signal, it turns off. as soon as i de-activate left signal or switch to the right. it goes back to solid on..
in other words, the front signals always stay on and don't blink..
and NO, i do not have the hooked up wrong. or to the running light wires.
did some research (googling) and I came to the conclusion that I have to buy 2x "20 Watt 8 ohm" resitors and put them in-line for the front signals.
Can anyone confirm that this will work? or perhaps give me another solution?

Re: 954 front signals don't blink
Find the turn signal flasher and pull the plug, gently clean the contacts with ultrafine sandpaper and re assemble. Your contacts can corrode or get a light coating of oxidation.
Re: 954 front signals don't blink
My bad..I forgot the relay is built into the dash/gauge...Just go to radio shack or a similar place and get 4, 6ohm resistors, and 8 splice taps. Just connect one end of resistor to hot, other end to ground for each light assembly. No need re wire anything.
Re: 954 front signals don't blink
Srsly, though, you do need a resistor, because the flasher can only make your turn signals flash if there is a decent load put on it. because there is barely any load on the flasher, it will act like there is a light out and not flash (a safeguard telling you that a light is burnt out). I bet if you put a regular light in it it might flash very quickly, or as it would be if it were normal. Give it a try.
