f4i not starting

The other day I tried starting my bike and all it would do is make a clicking noise from the starter solenoid. When I turn on my ignition the fuel pump will turn on and prime but all I get is clicking when I try and start my bike. I'm assuming I need a new starter solenoid but I don't wanna go buy one if that is not the problem. Any idea what the problem could be??

Re: f4i not starting

put it in 1st gear, pull the clutch in, push it and jump on, drop the clutch and then hit the gas. no need for electric start lol

Re: f4i not starting

I've jumped my bike with a car before, it didn't do anything but start the bike, they are both 12v systems, I've heard people say not to do it but I don't get why?

yeah it works, i don't know why motorcycle riders jump there bikes when they can just dump the clutch and take off... seems silly to me.

1st gear?? seems to me like all thats gonna do is lock the wheel up... If I was gonna push start it I would do 2nd or 3rd gear. But anyway...I don't wanna put it all back together without fixing the problem. I have the bike stripped down to the frame right now because I was checking all the electrical on the bike to see if that was the problem and ended up finding the starter solenoid is whats clicking.

it can possibly fry your bike. it can be done but it is not recommended. yes they are both 12 volts but there is a humungous difference in current. if you must do it then its best for the car not to be running.

roll start mine at least once a day at some point in time (1st gear) never locks my tires up....... i have a 64 tooth sprocket...... not sure you might have one of them high power stunt bikes or sumthing... just unhook the turbo then roll start it.

Re: f4i not starting

The bike can't even be push started. The wheel locks up in every gear. IDK what the **** is wrong with this POS!!!
