crash cage installation
Re: crash cage installation
No. You will need 2 people. Its not that difficult but when you attach the front, the side will need to be at an angle offset by just an inch. Get a caliper set to get it right the first time. The strength of the cage depends solely on that mm from the instructions it comes with. I forget what distance it is. Not as easy as other cages but you should get it.
Re: crash cage installation
no instructions needed
just slap it on there ..... not that hard ...... make sure u get all the bolts started before u tighten them ..... start with the all thread, then motor mount bolts ,then the front bolt
dont over think it

so was talen just being talen and pulling my leg?
Re: crash cage installation
Hopefully they made your cage so that you can fit an actual socket in it... The one made for my F2 I sent in to a machine shop to hone out one tube that a socket wont even fit in. But thats minor compared to the rest of the issues on the S.I. design for the F2/F3 Honda's. Cant blame them though.. The bike is over 15 yrs old haha!

Re: crash cage installation
The 2 long bolts go on the top front the short one goes on the bottom front and the All thread goes in the back in the only hole it can go... I dont know exactly on a RR but after you understand it its easy Lol just stare at it
Re: crash cage installation
yeah its just the really long all thread bolt acted like it wouldn't fit.
and do i screw out the stock bolts that are in the area of the other bolts and replace them with the sick screws?
ive never been up close to a bike with a cage on it, i dont know anyone in roanoke who has one....thats why im totally lost about getting it on

Re: crash cage installation
The all thread will fit just mess around with it you will figure it out.. And the top front bolts will go in the same place that your frame sliders would if you had any.. Just keep looking Lol i promis you will figure it out i went threw this last week
Re: crash cage installation
Brandon your killin us.... any stock bolts you remove, you replace with the ones sick innovations has sent you. On f4i's you have 1 small screw that goes down front, 1 on each side (like 3+ inch screws) and the all thread that goes in place of the rear MOTOR mount bolt its just like the all thread except smooth.
Re: crash cage installation
Yeah, Thats what they came with. But the main impact point (furthest tube out) mounts to a aluminum engine lobe. Broken one off already. Ready Rod was added for more support (nuts on inside of engine mount and out) The cage has been a royal pain in my ***. But it keeps my bike from rollin onto the tank or tail so far in any drop so go S.I.
