help just wont start
help just wont start
last year i broke my key off in my 04 gsxr750 no biggy got a used igntion of ebay for 80 bucks. put it on and now my bike wont start and is throwing a c42 code im pissed off now cus i threw my old igniton away over the winter i just did research and this code is impossible to fix it i heard it could be a fried diod or a bad ignition but i have no way of checking so i wll be spending more money to get it fixed what else could it possibly be a friend told me i caused it by not disconnecting the battery when changing the igntion is that true and is there a way to reset somthing

today and i noticed the plugs were different colors ( green , black) and wire colors didnt match either is this the problem? i checked the ignition out by hookin t up to my 02 gsxr and it worked fine on that and the wire colors were the same so i think i was sold the wrong ignition now im wondering if the correct ignition wll solve this problem. i didnt unhook the battery when i put it on
