Throttle Getting Stuck
Throttle Getting Stuck
Recently purchased bike from the auction. 07 gsxr 600. 2500miles. some damage to the left side. Right clip on does not seem tweaked/bent. Throttle is kinda hard to open up.
With bike running I will take it up to 6k and let off the throttle, it will stay at 6krpm for 2-3 seconds and then go back down to idle.
I checked the throttle housing and tube. seems ok.
I pulled off the bar end. Throttle cables dont seem to be
binding anywhere...
Open to any suggestions!

Re: Throttle Getting Stuck
If you pull off the throttle cables and manually open the butterflies - do they quickly snap shut when you let go?
If you pull the throttle cables off can you push and pull the cables through their housing freely?
Does the throttle tube turn freely in the switch housing?
Cable routing is correct / factory?
You've prolly checked most of that stuff already... and I'm guessing you lubed the clip on where the throttle tube slides onto it...
Dee-who?

Im not completly familar with the GIX, or the correct routing of cables. I have tried lubing everything.
Re: Throttle Getting Stuck
is there gunk on the clip on? maybe all you need is some lube on your throttle tube, or does the grip stick out past the throttle tube? maybe thats causing drag...
