breaking a bad habit
breaking a bad habit
I've got this really bad habit of bring my right hand in towards the tank slightly when doing rolling endo's this causes the rear of the bike to swing our every single time I keep it up for more than 20 feet... Even when I concentrate on not doing it, I still do it.. any suggestions?
Just relax and dont even think about it
problem solved!
Try this........ Lock your elbows (no bending at all) and turn your arms outwards (turn the insides of your elbows towards the sky). This will make your upper body rigid and almost like it is attached to the bike.
It took me a long time to figure out how to steer the bike in an endo but I will try to explain it. First off the *** end has to be HIGH.......if the tail is low (more than a couple inches below the top off you helmet) it is really hard to recover from when it starts to kick out.......when the tail is high (near the hieght of your helmet) it is manageable.
When the tail starts to kick out (lets say to the right) what you want to do it lean you upper body INTO the kick out.....sounds wierd but its true. Then (since your upper body is stiff) You will have a little bit of leverage to swing the bike back in with your thighs.
Sounds wierd and it takes a long time to figure out but it works for me.
Take a look at some long stoppie clips and you will see what I am talking about. There is a good example of this is the 2-up stoppie in the Streetfighterday 2003 teaser clip that is on stuntlife. The bike starts to lean, so the dude totally leans into it and it straightens out and he keeps rolling.
Hope this helps a little. PS......GET A STEERING DAMPER IF YOU DONT HAVE ONE!!!!! Tanks slappers are nothing to mess with

thanks for the advice
Yeah
Definately do it.....especially if you plan on rollling them out over any distance. They not only keep you from dying of a tank slapper, they keep the whole front end solid.and eliminate headshake
