02 R1 motor overheating

ok i changed the motor, and noticed that after about 200 miles it started to run hotter than normal, i have the owners manual and service manual both. they say that it should be running about between like 156 to 185 and its been running between 220 and 208 if the fan didnt come on i know it would over heat past boiling point majorly.. would you think it would be the thermostat or would it be something bigger?

Are you loosing coolant? Take the thermostat out and run it like that. If that does not work you might have a blown head gasket you might need to presurize the system.
