Well long story short my boy was riding his bike that he just put a new clutch in , 07 gsxr 600. He laid the bike down and broke the rear plastic and the two wires came off this in the pic. Im not sure what it is just wanting to know , Its kinda like clutch cables but they are tucked on the side of the tail and the round thing twist when u start the bike. is it some kind of automatic choke or something??

 

I believe it's called a butterfly valve, and restricts the exhaust, an emmisions thing.

 

So it will let more come out the exhaust if its not hooked up ? Kind of like in a gsr honda motor if you take the butterflys out then it will let more constent air out of the exhaust. So no biggie hooking them back up right?

 

Like Said, Its A Doo Hickey Thats Governs The Amount Of Exhaust Released From The Bike, Like A Manual Emmissions Control Unit Ecu. Just Put That **** Back Together And Ride On Son.... Word...lol

 

Dood... join a gixxer forum and look up the SET valve mod. then immediately rip all that **** out of there and let the thing stay open in your stock header. there are steps to the mod and your bike will thank you afterwards!

Yeah he laid it down being a dumb ***. I was showing him how to do a stoppie but I guess he didnt get the part about squeezing the front break soft til the back starts coming up and hug the tank. But this retard was going about 60 , And nailed the front brake .... He got road rash on his forearm, elbow , knee and side. All the rash is pretty nice amount , was wearing a leather jacket which slid up his arm when he slid on the road. The bike wouldnt move when we pushed it in the yard. would just start and put it in gear and it would sit still and i pulled the cover off and the clutches was broke up and so fucked up.. Told him to get a cage before he tried anything , now he is going to spend money buying new side plastics and tail.
