636 dual fans
636 dual fans
anyone doin it with two stock fans? if so, howd u set it up.... looks pretty damn impossible to me, unless you maybe use the right-side fan as a pusher-fan, instead of a puller. and even then, i dont know how efficient itd be.
damn that cam sensor.
damn that cam sensor.
Re: 636 dual fans
its simple homie, just make a bracket and mount it right next to your stock fan. you can run a toggle switch to power it or have it come on when you turn the key by finding a source that turns on with the key and splicing into the wiring.
Re: 636 dual fans
nah man its not like that... mounting it is simple... flip it upside down, and theres already tabs on the radiator for it.
problem is, the cam sensor is in the way. and if you move the radiator out, you run into issues with the front wheel tagging it, or the bars hitting before it gets to full-lock.
i already run my fan on a switch, i was just curious if anyone was runnin duals.

Re: 636 dual fans
anyone got pics of their set up? i got another fan ive been wanting to do this just been lazy
would it be better to have them both pushing air thru the radiator or one pulling one pushing?

Re: 636 dual fans
these fans are designed as pullers.... so thats what they would work best as. ill take a pic of how to mount it to the radiator...but its not gonna do you any good, unless you get real tricky to work around the cam sensor.
Re: 636 dual fans
you can use it as a pusher, by just reversing the wiring.
Re: 636 dual fans
Flip it upside down, tweak the brackets a lil, and its mint. I used one washer under each of the bottom mounts to help compensate for the angle of the radiator.
havent found a good way to clear though, so i took it back off for now.
Re: 636 dual fans
but its smaller then the stock 636 one
i dont have a prob with my whip overheating though, and my fans wired to come on when the bike does, im just thinking it cant hurt to have another one helping it cool off
Re: 636 dual fans
right, but since you cant flip the fanblades, wont this make it a less efficient pusher, than it is a puller?
yeah, my thoughts too... these bikes get run hard, so why not help keep them cooler. a smaller (lower profile) fan would work mint. top to bottom, theres all the room in the world to work with. its the width of the stock fan that dicks ya.
the other fan i have if off a dif bike, i dont member what kind

Re: 636 dual fans
yeah. you could unbolt the bracket from it, and flip it backwards. it'd stick out a little, and probably get broken eventually, but other than buying something like a mini flex-lite fan or something, theres not really any room for a 2nd puller.

Re: 636 dual fans
i meant to quote you other post in my previous post. im sure you will get it to work, its not rocket science.
