929 wheelies

I have an 01 929 1 down in front,I can do 1st gear no prob, 2nd gear can only do 1 out of 10, just seems like when i clutch it up its not consistant, either comes up so fast that i just bring it right down or when i do get it up im accelerating and seems like im chasing it . Think it might be easier to try to shift from 1st to 2nd while up in 1st??

I had mine geared the same way, try clutchin it up at lower RPM's let the torque of the motor bring it up. It doesnt seem like it has any ***** but it comes right up and you get to your bp at a lower RPM. With that gearing you should be able to do it in 3rd easily. Practice bro, get used to the bike. Soon it will be second nature and you won't even think about it.

Practice clutching it in second i'd say first is a bad gear to learn in unless your on a 600 i would say... my 929 is stock it comes up in third no problem....

On my old 929 in 2nd with stock gearing i could easily clutch it up rolling in 2nd at about 2300rpm's. Then when I went to 1 down up front i could clutch it up at about 1700rpm's rolling in 2nd.

The 929 is a torque monster, use it

Ditto

if you are having issues clutching it in 2nd it will come up in 2nd by just loading it a bit too
