Headlight Help
Headlight Help
I just bought a 05 gsxr 600, and I am reinstalling the stock front fairing and the headlight. The bike was used for stunting for a short time and it had the bug eyed (HID) looking headlights on the front with a running switch located in the back. I had to replace the front wiring harness because it was chopped up, and i plugged everything in, but the headlight will not work. I have tried looking for cut wires, but I haven't found any.
I would appreciate any help

Re: Headlight Help
I'd start with tracing the headlight circuit, making sure all power and ground wires are intact. Follow through headlight relays and fuses.
Not too much to do except put in the time.
The wiring diagram is from an 06 GSXR600, but should help you get started. I'm sure there will be some differences in wire colors, but should be fairly similar to the one in your bike.

Sorry, I didn't realize how poor the quality of that diagram was when I posted it.
The Black wire with the white tracer should be the ground for your headlight. If you have a DVOM, just do a continuity test between the B/W wires and the chassis or battery ground. This is the same ground for all your front lights.
Without a tester, just run a temporary lead between the B/W wire and the negative post of the battery. If it still doesn't work, then it is not a ground problem.
Black with Brown tracer is power for low beam, Black with Yellow tracer is power for high beam. If there isn't power to either of these, then go back to the relay and fuse box.
Electrical diag is nothing but taking the time to trace power and grounds. Keep at it and you will find it.
