HELP!! 06 gsxr major front brake problem

i have an 06 gsxr. my front brake calipers were leaking so i had spare one's and i swapped them out. i kept the same master cylinder, resevoir, and brake lines. i made sure there were no fluid inside the brake lines before i took off the bolt that connected the brake line to the calipers. after putting the brake lines back onto my spare ones, poured brake fluid back into the reservoir so that i can bleed the brakes again. unfortunately, there is no pressure on my brake lever. i can simply push the lever all the way back to the handle grip and feel no pressure against my fingers. my front brake pads aren't even pushing again the rotors. simply put, my front brakes are dead. anyone know the reason why my lever isn't apply any pressure when i pull on the brake?

sounds like your not getting all the air out bub.... you prob need to get a vaccum pump with a resivor on it... most reliable way to get that stuff elminated. as in make sure it's not something small before you start doing overalls.... but i'm no expert

wsup bud. did you get your tank?

i'm sure i bleeded the brakes properly cuz there were no more fluid coming out when i squeezed the lever 3x. at the last squeeze i held onto the lever so no air would get inside and i tightened up the air bleeder valve for each caliper and master cylinder. even though there are slight air bubbles along the brake lines, i should still be able to fill a tight pressure when i squeeze on the brake lever. i'm getting irritated

well the tanks in my area... i guess you put a signature required on it.... and i'm never home so the finnaly left a note in the box with a thing for me to sign they're gonna drop it off tomorrow i think...

well you said slight air bubbles... it doesn't take much...... air compresses where fluid doesn't which is what gives you the pressure....... if it's got any at all i would be questioning that before anything else.... but like i said ... .i'm no expert

u shoudl have picked it up from the post office. but it's all good

when i blead the brakes, not alot off brake fluid came out of the tube i attached to the bleeder valve. i squeezed on the brake lever until there was no more fluid coming out and held on to it until i tightened the valve back up. did this for the other side and master cylinder. still, no response from the brake lever. if i can't do this crap i'm gna sell this biach. :p

Re: HELP!! 06 gsxr major front brake problem

i may be reading your posts wrong but it sounds to me that you are not grasping the concept of bleeding brakes , the objective is to get all the air out of the system so there is nothing but brake fluid in there ..

put the hose on your bleeder and keep it open then just pump till there is no more air coming out and remember to keep the resivoir full , do not let the res get empty while you are pumping your brakes because that will allow air to get in the master...

do both sides

+1 on rogers thoughts...

also if your trying to do this by yourself it aint gonna work as well, if you have sum1 pump the lever a few tiems and squeeze and hold it while you crack the bleeder and let sum fluid out and close the bleeder it will work alot better...

Re: HELP!! 06 gsxr major front brake problem

frank it's not a real good idea to leave the res open over night , brake fluid doesnt like humidity at all ..

make sure the lever is fully releasing , some times an aftermarket lever can keep a little pressure in the master and that will make it a bitch to bleed ..
