Stand Up's

Question about stand up's.
-Is it easier to stand up before or after you actually wheelie?
And should I be clutching it up, or just using the throttle?

I think it is definately easier to stand up BEFORE you actually wheelie, because myself, and almost everybody else I know, bounces it up by standing up.

Whether you clutch it up or use the throttle, that is completely up to you. If it is a 600, I would say clutch it up. If its a 900 or more, I'd say, "Bounce that son of a bitch up before you kill yo self!"

When you bounce, you stand up on the pegs with your knee's bent a little, then you give it a bounce. Almost like you are trying to bottom the bike out. As you do that, you let off the gas, and then power back on. When you do this, the front suspension rebounds, and you're giving it power, so it SHOULD come right up if its done correctly. Its all about technique and timing... Just keep practicing and you'll get it fairly quick.

Don't bounce on the clips ons. You'll snap them right off.

Bounce on your pegs. It is plenty to load your front forks.

Cover that rear brake.

I first learned stand ups by standing up, closing the throttle, bouncing on the pegs, and then hitting the throttle as the bike is on the way up from the bounce.

ya, if you do bounce use your legs to compress the bike.

i clutch it though, powering it (using throttle to get it up) is just scary to me, i've saw too many people loop it that way cause they keep rolling on the throttle. When you clutch you do'nt have to give it near that much throttle and you arn'et constantly pulling more and more.

I learned by sitting down, clutching and then standing up as hte bike is coming up. It worked pretty good. The first hundred times you do it the bike will fall foward when you stand up because your balance point changes but you'll get used to it after a while.

Now i just stand up and clutch it.
