Smile Need advice on fixing the throttle lag on a 2005 R6

I have a 2005 R6 that has about 9,000 miles on it. It has not been dropped recently but the throttle started to act up as soon as i adjusted the play for the throttle. When i try to do power wheelies and clutch wheelies there is a slight lag that i cannot live with. I took it to a service center and they were goin to charge me 140$ to look at the throttle ( that doesn't even include a garrenteed repair) Is there anything i could do on my end to save $$$. for example maybe lube the throttle cable or any special screws i need to tighten?
