f4i w/dirtbike bars throttle conversion
I recently put dirtbike bars on my 01 f4i and now my throttle cables are usuable but a little to short, Are there any other cables i can use that are longer but compatible with throttle bodies and kill switch control
Re: f4i w/dirtbike bars throttle conversion
I have the same problem. I had it working pretty good last year but I bought a new throttle and cables and whenever I turn right the cables get all twisted and the throttle sticks which is not good. I know with the stock clip ons the cables go through the forks, I have my cables passing on the right of the fork instead of middle and still not working. Is there somewhere we can buy throttle cables just like an inch longer or something? Please someone help or post a link of where I can purchase this.

Run them on the outside like you said or try http://www.motionpro.com/
They will make you fresh ones to your spec

Go to www.convertibars.com They sell longer cables already. I have motion pro on mine but I think convertibars are cheaper.
Re: f4i w/dirtbike bars throttle conversion
Ill try one more thing first is pass the calbe over the bars, i have it passing under. I saw a pic of a F4i with the cables over the bars, seems like it would work never thought of that hehe. I'll let you know how it goes.

Re-route your cables and it shoould all fit fine...
Unless you have some HUGE risers, or HUGE bars..
I run super wide low bars, with regular old tag risers, and all my stock cables fit fine.. Same with my friends f4i..
Route your cables UNDER The dirt bike bars, OUTSIDE of the forks...
Also the clamp that holds the brake line TO the lower tripple, disconnect that so the brake line can stretch..
And my favorite way to route the clutch, is THROUGH the bars, right under the cross support..
heres some shitty pics of my front end

EDIT: also forgot to add this!
Take your airbox off, and grind down the INSIDE CORNER of it where the cable pass, that way they can pass straight, and don't hit the airbox..
It's VERY Easy, and only takes about 5-10 seconds if you have an angle grinder...

Re: f4i w/dirtbike bars throttle conversion
I found my problem. The cables were long enough but twisted when i turned right. For some reason when I installed the new cables I put them a bit too tight and as soon as I loosened it, it worked fine. I couldn't believe it was so simple.
