Stand Ups

Wanna try and get some stand ups on my 929. Sitting down isnt really a problem in first gear..but i think i might feel more comfortable with a stand up being able to see everything. Any tips? I always hear use the clutch..or slip outta the clutch. i feel if i do that, that im gonna loop it. Anyone care to further eloborate on the clutch process?

You don't need to use the clutch to bounce a R6 in 2nd or 3rd gear. Some people can even bounce them in 4th (stock) with their suspension setup appropriately.

On a 929, I don't see why you can't chop the throttle in 2nd gear to get them up. Bouncing it will help you do them at lower speeds if you want on that bike, though.

i see on pretty much all standup pics that your left foot goes on the passenger peg and the right foot stays (obviously for the brake) on the regular peg

when do u make the switch with your left foot and can u come down without switchin back?

SMB123- hey man, i've seen you over on the R6 messagenet. You've given alot of good explainations for wheelies. So I need to hit the power band in 3rd to bounce it up? My 6 is stock except for 1- and 2+ gearing. Until i get rid of it, 1st and 3rd gear wheelies are all i have to work with. 1st is no prob except once you redline it then it goes down, I'm lookin to get those long stand ups going. I've got the time and the place just workin on the technique and so far it isn't ****.

I got a 6 gixxer with that gearing. I bounce it up in 2nd or clutch it sitting at 50. I can even clutch it a little of the ground in 3rd. Today was the first time I"d even tried to bounce it in 3rd and it came up about a foot and a half. I believe you need to be going about 75 or 80 and just do it the same as if you are in 2nd drop your weight and hammer it. In 4th you do that but a little faster and clutch it when you drop your weight and be ready to lean back a little to try and give it a little pull.
