fix bent forks?

i remember one of buddies was telling me you could bend back bent forks with a pipe bender (machine)

...?

is this true?

i have a set of forks that are bent way back.....maybe like 20 degrees...can it be fixed or are they trash?

Re: fix bent forks?

no you cant re-use or bend back the bent tubes...you should be able to salvage most of the other fork parts though...I dont know what kinda bike you have but all the internals should be ok....maybe exept for the damper-rod

Re: fix bent forks?

fork tubes can be bent back into shape with a roll press but the tubes are so thin on modern bikes i would never do it ,that and used forks are probably gonna be cheaper then getting the bent ones fixed

i did have a set of bent forks fixed on a cruiser i had when i was 18 but i wouldn't do it on a modern bike specially if you do stoppies...
