no it wouldnt. you would just be losing backpressure and increasing torque due to less strain on your exhaust stroke and the other cylinders that are busy doing their jobs in the meantime. although this is only partially true, because your exhaust system is designed for the gases to flow in a certain manner. there have been dyno tests for flowmasters that deliver better performance than an open header. its sortof like the barrel of a rifle.

 

pretty sure that more backpressure= more torque but less hp? has to do with closing of the valves i believe...


at any rate, also consider that the Ex-up system ties into how your exhaust is set up, no exhaust gasket could very well cause it to run like ****... also sound like **** as well
