it's simple, nail it, when u get to your powerband , probably somewhere around 8 or 9k, get off the throttle just enough for the forks to compress, then quickly whack it back on, *** to the back, lean back, even pull the bars if ya need to. Anyone can rock third with the throttle, just takes practice.

just gotta get over the fear and give it more throttle. When I first got my f4 i told myself this thing sucks it wont even wheelie. Now I yank it up with ease. If you're using the clutch you can deffinatly get it up, just roll on the throttle harder at the point where it's dropping

OK...let's get something straight here. When you guys say throttling it up in 3rd. Are you saying that you just roll on the gas and it comes up? Or are you also talking about bouncing it? I can understand bouncing a 600 up but just to throttle it up...I find that kinda hard on stock gearing. My R6 is -2front +4 in the rear. And I can't just roll on the gas and have it come up in 3rd. But I can roll on the gas let off and get right back on it and it'll come up. But I also can clutch it in 4th, sometimes 5th on a crest of a hill

600's can bounce up in second no problem. Its all technique. hell when I was learning wheelies for the first time, I didn't even think my bike could do it.

You just have to get it down. any 600 will bounce up in 2nd. I do it all the time. I can do it in third now, cause i'm geared, but thats another story.

ANyways, until I have $1300 to get it fixed I'm going to have to just wheelie in 1st and practice on 3rd.

What exactly is your 2nd gear doing? I ride an 02 R6, and have heard a couple of people talking about their problems with 2nd gear. I haven't had any problems (knock on wood) and have 11,500 miles on my bike. Just curious, and thought this might be some valuable info later down the line.

yammerhammerr6- Yeah well its a real pain in the ***. Apparently the dogs on the second gear have a tendency to break off, on our model R6 the gear has 3 dogs. Yamaha figured out that it was crap and thats why the 03's have 5 dogs on their gears. What happens is when i roll on throttle in second it feels as though my clutch was slipping, the faster you go the more it does it proportional with your speed. It feels like i'm pulling the clutch in and out really fast, so it slips quickly then catches and then slips again and catches... all the way till i shift. And in order to fix it you have to pull the engine and crack the tranny, althouh the peices are cheap to replace the labor will kill your bank account.
I've heard that if you get a good amount of miles on your R6 and nuthin happenes then you should be fine, from what i have found out it ussually happens to bikes around 6-8k miles.

Do cbr954 have really high balance points it feels really high when i feel like im going to flip over and suggetions

I just want to get consistant and away from powering wheelies

I can power up wheelies all day long but they are too unpredicatble i want concistatncy

PLEASE HELP ME
I guess nobody is giving you a straight answer huh? Just clutch that bitch up. It takes practice. Make sure your weight is not too far foward. I clutch mine up around 7-8 rpm. But listen to your motor. Don't look at your RPMs. I've relied so much on the tach, that right now with my xover tank wheelies I'm just like you bro, two feet off the ground. but as for BP, look at Dan Jackson's web page. that's the BP of the 954. Good Luck and cover that rear brake.
