wet v. dry ?

so i was wondering if anyone can tell me the pros and cons of having a wet clutch and a dry clutch. also, the pros and cons of clutch packs versus single disk clutches.

why do most cars run single disk dry clutches (cost?)

why do drag cars run dry clutch packs while bikes run wet clutch packs?!?

so confused

I've heard alot of people say they prefer stock clutches over aftermarket because they have a easier pull. Don't know anyhing alse though. Just thought I'd throw that out there

Re: wet v. dry ?

basically on a bike the confines are so small, the trans is in the block, to keep the clutches dry would be nearly impossible, and very costly(ducati) it can be done, but it is cheaper and easier for a mass produced bike. a car uses 1 disc is the trans is a completely seperate unit and larger spaces. the max rpm in a bike also demands multiple discs, as the surface of a single bike disc is very minimal

do wet clutches wear less than dry clutches, or rather, do wet clutches slip more than dry?

and do clutch packs grab more? cuz hardcore drag cars use clutch packs...and i assumed clutch packs grab better
