636 Starting Problem
636 Starting Problem
Alright I'm just getting my 06 636 together... Bought the bike wrecked so I'm getting it all reassembled. The bike doesn't turn over or even attempt to and I haven't really looked too far into it because when the red power switch is off and I turn the key on the fuel pump primes... Turn the switch on and it seems to do nothing. Checked the fuses and the ecu one was blown but I replaced that. Anyone have any idea what it could be?
Also the valve for the exhaust can I just leave that unplugged? I was at a show and I saw alex flores's bike and it was all that loud and he had no exhaust so I figured I would run the bike like that since I got a round bar and I want to run an aftermarket taillight where the muffler went for the occaisional street ride.

Re: 636 Starting Problem
Well I assumed it was from the wreck... It was wrecked pretty nasty and it didn't blow when I was trying to fire it up... I had everything connected and the new fuse didn't blow so I'm assuming everythings ok?
Re: 636 Starting Problem
you cant leave the servo motor free.... or else your bike will lose low end power cause itll think your exhaust valves are closed so itll keep spinnin and your FI light will stay on..... i know that when you put an after market pipe on a bike wit exhaust valves youll lose low end power the bike will hesitate a lil from take off or when you mash it.... so most of the time ppl will run the bikes rich.. which will cause back firing.... good luck....
Re: 636 Starting Problem
power switch is broken and its not the fuel pump priming, its your throttle bodies synchronizing.. lift your tank and look inside your throttle bodies when u turn the key on.
list all the damaged **** on the bike and check all the fuses under the seat and make sure your **** is in neutral when u try to start it.

Re: 636 Starting Problem
Yeah I'll check that makes sense... Ok so fuel pump not priming just me being ignorant for asking and not checking first. I'll go over it later I just haven't been in a hurry since I'm waiting on a subframe. Bike was rear ended pretty bad which was the extent of the damage... subframe, swingarm and the typical side damage like rearsets, fairings and the stator cover.
Already checked all the fuses in the fuse block but I'll try to find the one near the starter and I'll check out the controls and try to figure out why they aren't working.
