I was going to install a stuntex pickup this afternoon; however, i forgot that I might have to replace my oil and exhaust gaskets. Do I have to replace them when I install this? The bike only has 4500 miles also.

Any help is appreciated!

 

i've never replace any exhaust gaskets and i've done it on 4 gixxers!




never had an exhaust leak,just make sure the headers r lined up right!

 

The only way you will have to replace the exhaust gaskets is if you don't reinstall the headers properly and over torque the header bolts. Make sure everything is lined up properly, get all the header bolts snug but not tight, then start tightening the header bolts down in successsion. Don't tighten each bolt all the way in one run. In other words, tighten each bolt a little and move to the next, then start over. Repeat until they are all torqued down properly.

Dont worry about the oil pan gasket, just use some RTV. Use it VERY sparingly. Do not glob it on like toothpaste or it will end up running through your engine.
