brakes

when yall change your brakes how often do you replace your rotors? can you have them turned like on a car or how long can you go without changing rotors and only pads if there no grooves in the rotors?

Re: brakes

you can slap pads on that rotor until there isnt anything left...granted even if you frequently change your pads you will eventually get grooves due to the uneven wear characteristics of the pads (but grooves only slightly affect braking performance) like OldManRodger said, make sure you let your pads wear to your rotors before you go hog wild on braking. Im not sure on the 'turning of rotors' im sure its best to get new ones if it is that bad....i have some bikes that have sick grooves in the rotors but they are straight and they work fine.
