suzuki engine knock

i have a 94 suzook rf 900, at idle the motor knocks pretty decently, seems to have nuts and revs to 12,000 rpm with no prob. is there anything i can do to make it quieter? it is loudest at idle, but it has a yoshi slip on so after 2,000 rpms you cant hear it, anyone ridden a bike that knocked? how long is it going to last?

Re: suzuki engine knock

Depend's how loud the knock is right now. I know if the gsxr motors start knocking then they usually go pretty quickly if they are under stress. If you want you can swing it down to my shop and I'll listen to it for you. It is in brookfield, ma so it's a little ways but if you want to swing by just call 508-867-4120 and ask for Jay.

Are all your plugs good? My buddy had a fried spark plug and his motor would knock like crazy, changed the plug and everything was cool.

I have a 93 Ski-Doo 580, 93 Yamaha Exciter (I think), 01 Blaster, 66 Caddy Coupe Deville, possibly a 03 cbr600rr, and a 94 Wrangler with a 4" lift and 31" swampers...I think that is about it for motorized toys.

I'm actually in the process of selling the caddy, I don't have time to mess with it anymore. Its a fun car but I have to much going on and the money is better so I can pay for my new toys
