Ok here's the scoop. I've got a K6 GSX-R 600... I recently installed a set of race rails from powers stunt works (i have no idea if this is causing the noise or what) but ever since I put them on, when I hit powerband around 9k theres this nasty noise really obvious noise until about 11-12k. I know it's not the powerband cause I know my bike's sound. It does it when i'm stopped or moving... It almost sounds like valves, but I believe if I had a valve problem it would be evident at idle right? anyone have any idea what this could be?!?!

 

also while i was installing the race rails i also converted to fully synthetic Suzuki oil if that would have anything to do with it

 

Mabe The Cage Is Making Some Kind Of Harmonic Vibration And Making Everything Louder.. I Know When I Put A Skid Plate On My 50 It Sounded Weird Way Up In The Revs.. It Was All Tightend Down It Just Vibrated Like A Tuning Fork. Take The Rails Off And See What It Sounds Like..

iight i just wanted to rule out the valve factor... cause i was about to kick myself for not getting the like $500 extended warranty cause mine went up last month.

what kind of power band is in it?? how do you know its not the power band

 

Oh lord, .....reminds me, I hate talking to those old drunk rednecks about their husqavarna 360 back in the 70's being the fastest bike ever....even beating todays bikes. They have told me there is a power ban in 1,2,3 but not 4th 5th....and all sorts of stuff. Its crazy. A power ban is a spot in your RPM range that your motor makes a large spike in power. Some streetbikes seem to have 2.
