GPR Damper with Dirt Bike Bars

I'm getting my dirt bike bars put on right now by the guy who fixes my bike up - i'm not mechanical at all. When he put them on he took of the GPR Damper. Is there any way to get that on without having the bars extremely high? I read a lot of posts where people say that its not necessary with the DBB's unless your doing really long stoppies. Is that right? I feel more comfortable knowing its there. What does everyone think? Thanks.
