F4I pipe help? Too loud.

Hey I cut my stock pipe too short and it's super loud and no baffles in it. I was thinking of getting another F4i stock pipe than I can get really cheap and cut it a bit longer keeping some baffle in there. I know it would be a lot better but still too loud. I don't want any noise problems because we lost our best spot for noise complaints.

Does anyone know if any other pipes would fit in good, I tried an R6 pipe and it's too big, but what about gixxers or Kawi? Or any cheap aftermarket you can buy that's short and quiet.

Thanks,
Vern

Re: F4I pipe help? Too loud.

wut u should do is start over,

get an f4i pipe and cut it from the back where the pipe goes to the header... shorten what u want back there and then re weld it together....that f4i baffle is mostly toward the end of the pipe, and u can shorten a good few inches of the stock can.

i did it by cutting off the tip and reshortening all the baffles and re welding it together again. its louder than stock but still pretty good.....

good luck!

ya, i cut like 3" off mine, once you cut it open you will see a sealed part that a small pipe comes out of, that is the first section of baffle, leave that **** alone, then the second part, leave the pipe that is attached to the end cap on there, and just shorten it so when you cut the can the skinny pipe is still in there...also leave some of the skinny pipe coming out of the main body still on there. welded mine back up, barely louder than stock. it's 10x quieter than any of my friend's aftermarket exhausts.

Thanks for your help guys that's prob what I'll end up doing and will just cost me 40$. I did my friend's R6 like that and sounds a lot better than mine. I'm just jealous of my fellow gixxers being able to keep their stock pipe unmodified and quiet.

wtf?? i had to cut my gixxer pipe like a bioch! i guess you could rock it if you had a 11 oclock bar and didn't do circles, but those of us that drag the subframe and do circles have to cut that **** DOOOOWN

Stock, Cut right through the H in Honda. Just barely lets you save the 2 short baffles in there.

i cut right at the seam of the end cap, then cut all the way through further down so i saved those 2 baffle pipes...rpobably why mine works. i just figured it would be smart to keep those in there and i guess it turned out for me.

If you don't have the endcap pipe connected to one of the 2 smaller baffle pipes, it will be loud
