Re: bent valve

had a air box screw go through the carbs and sit on top of the valve while running. took the tank off and the air box off and started it and now it shoots gas back out of only one carb. the carb that the screw went through.

Re: bent valve

It most likely damaged the valve seat and the head too....

I'd buy a used engine.. not very expensive for those bikes... or just upgrade bikes and fix that one later for a spare..

Re: bent valve

Ouch that sucks. I floated a valve once in a 00 zx6R put a new valve & guide in and also had the seat re-cut. It marred the piston but it didnt hurt, took a die grinder to it.....Its went till 33,000 miles until rod failure....knock knock...............whos there.................rod.................rod who................rod thru your case.

Re: bent valve

Yeah thats the only thing good about the bike being down...you take your time in setting up everything perfect. You dont get in a hurry and miss things, its not like you can ride after you install it all...U get my drift right.
