Honda 919, 900RR Fuel Pump Conversion
Honda 919, 900RR Fuel Pump Conversion
Hi how is evbeyone. I am building a stunt bike and put a 2003 Honda 919 Motor into my 94 Honda cbr900rr. I was told by a friend to get welder to cut out the bracket from the 919 tank and weld it into the cbr900rr tank. That could work but then there are 2 lines that run throught the tank that would have to be moved (the overflow and the other one that i am not sure of). Is there a extrenal pump option that i could use because that would be easier. And if i can put an external I was told you have to find out the right pressure that the pump from the 919 pumps out so i can match it with the external. Please any advice would very much be apprectiated.

Re: Honda 919, 900RR Fuel Pump Conversion
Hey, Im into this swap and want to know how it turns out because I might do the same later this summer. Unfortunately, I cant help with the specifics as I havent done one, however;
If you can run an external pump, ie; inline, there should be no problem with it. I dont see why you would have to know the pressure of the oem one as the aftermarket will be the same or probably greater and either way, unless you upgrade your entire fuel system, injectors, regulator, fuel rail and actually need the higher pressure, it wont make a difference. In fact, it will probably run a little better.
Upgraded pumps are used to push more fuel through larger injectors to make up for added air that is usually the cause of a supercharger, turbo or even in some cases, nitrous. You have none, just run an inline pump and it should work.
Let me know how the swap turns out, I am seriously interested in switching mine over.

i plan on upgrading the fuel system. I have the wire harness from the 919 so i want to have a fuel injected bike to 12 better. i will let you know how it comes out. i was told i might have problem with the fuel rail hitting the frame as well.
