Jet kits??

I have to appologize to start with, I know nothing about carbuerators or how to spell them, and therefore hate them. I have a 99 900, obviously not fuel injected and it runs rough, a lot. I was told to get a jet kit and that would help, however when I look at the different ones availible, they range with add ons and everything else.

My question is what do they do? How will it help my bike? Can I do it? (I work on cars, just not carbs) Is it good for lots or street only and will it help? Which one to get?

The only mods my bike has is a cut down 2 brothers pipe.

Oh, also, is there an oil pick up mod for the 900?

I know its a lot to ask, so thanks in advance!!

Re: Jet kits??

im in the same boat right now with my carbs.... you can get a jet kit installed cheaper than them cleaning the carbs minus the cost for the jet kit

Re: Jet kits??

I still dont know which way to go. If I talk to the stupid ******* at the dealership, they say I need a jet kit and a full rebuild, bullshit!!!

Do you know how to sync the carbs? The more I read up on it, the better that option sounds accompanied with cleaning them.

I will definitely let you know.

Than its on to find a 919 fuel injected engine, enough of this carb bullshit!@!

Re: Jet kits??

syncin carbs is easy as ****.. clean m first!!

do it up right, so at least make sure everything is clean: air filter, carbs, hoses etc.
replace your sparkplugs.
hen sync the carbs with the carbsyncin machine (which is ******* cheap).. if it still runs shitty, then think about installing a jetkit!
